Philly Loves Lacquer Summer Down the Shore Collection (8 polishes)

*Press Samples
Hi there everyone, welcome to Monday!  I just heard on the radio that Memorial Day is the unofficial start to Summer.  Is that true?  I feel like our weather is a little stunted here.  This morning it's going to be in the 40's while it's raining and then this afternoon it's supposed to be in the 70's and sunny.  How do you even dress for that?  I ended up in sandals and a coat haha!

So while I'm freezing, I have a really fun Summer collection to show you guys :)  This is the Summer Down the Shore Collection by Philly Loves Lacquer and it is inspired by childhood Summers along the Jersey Shore.  Love it!  Let's delve right in....

Absecon-light blue linear holo

This polish is a dusty pale blue holo and it's gorgeous.  The formula is a little on the sheer side but it does build up nicely in three thin coats.  All swatches for all of the polishes are with topcoat.

Meet Me at Morey's-a clear based glitter topper with a mix of 100 different glitter colors and shapes

I'm just going to throw it out there and say that I love this glitter topper.  When I applied this one, I  noticed a lot of purple micro glitters and different shapes and sizes of matte and shiny glitters including circles, hexes, and stars.  I used one easy coat over Nicole by OPI Am I Making Myself Claire?  I had no problems with the glitter, no digging or placing of the glitter needed.  It's just so darn cute and I think you could probably put this over any color.

Love Those Wildwood Days-a creamy sky blue scattered holo

Ugh, the perfect blue Summer sky in a bottle...it is right here :)  This is the brighter cousin of the first polish, much more deep and bright, while the first one is more airy and dusty (if that makes any sense).  The formula was the same as the first blue, a little sheer but buildable in three thin coats.

Wildwoods By the Sea-a dark seafoam scattered holo

Sorry for the two pictures, go figure I couldn't upload a third picture of one of my favorites from the collection.  This color is a medium cool seafoam ocean-y green and the color is SO good!  This polish was super opaque and had a fantastic formula.  I used two easy coats.  I found this one dried a little bit on the matte side but that was fixed with topcoat.  I'm dying over this color, it's just so pretty!

Watch the Tram Car, Please-a bright yellow glitter crelly with matte blue and neon blue glitters

YES!!!  I am all about a funky polish and this is totally in this realm of colors.  This one is a bright highlight yellow crelly with a mix of different shapes, including shards, stars, squares, and hexes, in kelly green and neon teal.  This polish is just so cool and unique.  Because it's a crelly, I did use three thin coats but I had no formula issues at all.

Under the Boardwalk-a dark grey cream with purple shimmer

I feel like that explanation cannot even begin to describe how beautiful this color is, just look at it.....look at it!  The base of this polish is a dark charcoal grey color but that shimmer just shines through.  It's stinkin' gorgeous.  In my swatch notes I actually wrote "so good!".  The formula and opacity were spot on and I needed two easy coats.

Island Beach-a sand colored scattered holo

This dusty tan holo is exactly the color of sand.  I feel like I should have started this post by saying that I am a huge fan of the beach.  I just love everything about the beach and so when I put this sandy color on, it made me so happy.  This was the sheerest of the 8 polishes but it does build up in three coats.

On the Way to Cape May-a bright strawberry jelly with red and silver shimmer

It's funny because when I swatched this polish I wrote that it is exactly the color of strawberries :)  The shimmer in this one is really cool, almost with a non-uniform shape to give it some pizzazz.  I really liked that!  This one is so bright and Summery, like you melted a strawberry popsicle and put it on your nails.  Because it's a jelly, it does require building, but three thin and easy coats did the trick.

Oh my gosh you guys, how cool is this collection?  I love the theme, I love the colors, and the formulas were really good.  Since I usually pick my favorites, I have to say my top picks are the glitter topper, Meet Me at Morey's, the seafoam holo, Wildwoods By the Sea, the bright yellow crelly, Watch the Tram Car, Please, and the vampy grey shimmer, Under the Boardwalk.  There's not one that I didn't like.  I would love to know what your favorite is down in the comments!

This collection will be available on June 1st at 7pm EST.  The full size collection will be $85, and the mini size will be $42.50.  A four bottle bundle, full or mini size, will also be available ($42.50 for 4 full size bottles and $21.25 for four mini bottles).  Individual bottles will be available only in full sizes, $12 for holos and shimmers and $11 for the glitter crelly and topper.

*These polishes were sent for review in exchange for my honest opinion.
