New Video: Sally Beauty Manicure Basics Haul!

Happy Hump Day folks!  We are in full freezing weather here!  I am not a fan.  I also feel like we are in full holiday swing though, that I am a fan :)  I will get back to swatching soon, it's just been a hectic last few weekends.  Clearly right now it's either blogposts or videos, I haven't gotten into doing both at the same time again, but I will :)

  2. That Seche Vite has to be the cutest little bottle ever! Query regarding nail polish remover: how do you compare pure acetone with non-acetone or conditioning type removers? I'm still trying to work out which is best for what purpose. I bought a cheap remover the other day and it totally clogged up my stamps. Any advice would be much appreciated :)

    1. Hi Kathryn. For me, I only use pure acetone because it removes the fastest and it's the only thing I can get to remove those tough glitter polishes. Also my husband has bad asthma and non-acetone removers give him attacks. I've tried non-acetone removers, mostly small sample bottles that I've taken for traveling and it takes me forever to remove my polish, which is why I personally don't like it. What it normally comes down to for most people is the drying effect of acetone vs. the conditioning effect of non-acetone remover. Acetone leaves the nails and skin very dry but I balance that with cuticle oil and lotion every night before bed. I can definitely see how a non-acetone clogged your stamps. Sometimes they can leave an oily residue, which is why they some are moisturizing or conditioning. I use acetone on my stamping plates and stampers and haven't had any issues. They will leave some streaks but that doesn't mess with the quality and will fully clean any residue and polish away. I'm pretty sure Sally's has a conditioning acetone formula so many that would be a good in between for you to try. They have small size bottles that you could try, so you wouldn't have to buy the monster bottles like I do :) Hope this helps!

    2. Thank you that's really helpful; it makes sense now why I had the stamping issues and also why it's been so difficult getting glitter off my nails. It might be worth my having the acetone for those purposes and the conditioning one you mentioned for ordinary polish removal. Thank you, my next purchase will be more focussed now. I'm so pleased by the way, to hear you sounding and looking so much better on your video. Take care and thank you for your help. :)
