Sally Hansen Electric Summer (4 polishes)

Hi guys, happy Friday.  I am back at work at the moment, but not sure how long I'm going to last.  I did hear from the doctor yesterday who told me that my MRI showed everything was fine with my brain but did show abnormal thickening of both sinuses.  They scheduled the first appointment available with an ENT (ear, nose, and throat doctor), which is July 30.  In the mean time, they told me they really couldn't do anything else for me.  My husband did find some medicine at the drugstore and that seems to be keeping things at bay, well, sort of.

Today I have four polishes from the brand new Sally Hansen Electric Summer Collection.  I found this collection at my local Meijer and although it says electric on the display, it also says pastels.  So I'm thinking they were trying to go for neon pastels like the recently released Maybelline Bleached Neons.  I picked up four from the display but am contemplating getting some of the other ones.  Let's get right into it.

Floaties-

Floaties is a pastel pinky peach cream polish.  I couldn't tell exactly if it was more peach or more pink so I just arrived at peachy pink :)  I loved the color of this polish but the formula left much to be desired.  I thought it was streaky and it did pull off the underlying layer unless each coat dried completely.  I used three coats with topcoat below.

Pearl Up

Next up is Pearl Up, which is a white jelly with some underlying shimmer in it.  I thought I would like this one but it needed three coats to build up and I thought the color was a little bit muddy looking.  Three coats with topcoat below.

Water Orchid

Next up is Water Orchid, which is an opaque pale lilac purple cream.  I liked this color a lot, but again, not so much the formula.  I used three coats below but now that I see the pictures, I do see a bit of streakiness.  Three coats with topcoat below.

Wet Suit

Last up is Wet Suit, which is a sky blue cream.  This one had the best formula of the four and I ended up using three thin coats with topcoat for my photos below.  I really liked the color of this polish, I don't really have anything in my collection this shade of blue.

Overall I was let down with these polishes.  I love the colors in the collection, but the formulas left me disappointed.  That being said, I have read some other reviews saying that all the creams had great formulas.  So, maybe each bottle is a crapshoot?  I had that same problem with the Maybelline Bleached Neons formulas.  Some people said they were awesome, some people said they were terrible.  I still might go back and try some of the others though, for review purposes of course ;)  What do you guys think of this collection?

  4. First off, hope you feel better and you get full health soon.
Now to the polish, the rosy peach shade, I say again: not a big fans of pinks but lately... oh man! I really like that one but not sure about the streaky formula. Wet Suit, I'm sure I do not have a dupe of that exact shade so I can convince the hubs that YES I NEED THIS ONE.
On the lilac, well purples/lilacs and the specter are my definitive favs so I will get that as well. Sorry wallet!

  6. I hope you're doing a bit better today!!!!

I love the blue and the pink polishes but, I don't have the patience to work with difficult polishes. It's just too hard for me because my hands do shake a bit from having m.s.
