Disney Nail Art Challenge: Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland Manicure

Happy Thursday everyone!  I wish everyone a great day.  A couple of weeks ago I noticed a nail art challenge inspired by Disney hosted by Rambles of a Polish Addict.  I was SO excited when I saw this challenge because I have a secret love of Disney movies.  I watched so many Disney movies as a kid and to this day still love them.  Alice in Wonderland was never a favorite of mine, and to be honest, scared me as a kid.  The things I do love about the movie are all of the bright colors in the tea party and the candies that Alice eats.  I have a love for color and that was my inspiration for this manicure.  I basically looked at my polish rack and picked every bright color I could find.  For some reason when I pictured Alice in Wonderland I thought of black because of the dark themes throughout the movie.  I actually really loved how it turned out so without further ado....

I started with base coats of the following colors: China Glaze Shocking Pink, China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, Wet N Wild Sunny Side Up, and OPI Red Lights Ahead Where?

I took painter's tape and created a diagonal with the following colors: OPI Jade is the New Black, OPI My Paprika is Hotter Than Yours, OPI Plugged-In Plum, and China Glaze Sunday Funday.

I finished off with my Pueen stamping plates and stamped the black bows with Essie Licorice.

So what do you think?  Do you think this represents the movie?

  1. Oh I never liked Alice in Wonderland as a kid either, actually I don't know if I do today. The story is just sort of strange, not very "fairytale" like.

  3. i love the Tim Burton Alice in Wonderland more - if you've ever read the book you'll realise Disney twist a lot of things to try and make them more 'happy ending' etc.

I really love your mani its dead cute - I like your pinky the most!

I love alice in wonderland myself, both the original and the tim burton movies, but I've only just watched the original recently so I can't say if I would have liked it as a kid, haha.
