30 Day Challenge: Blue Cloud Manicure
Yay for Friday! I am so excited for this weekend. What are your plans? Tonight my husband and I are going over to our friend's house to watch the Hobbit and Saturday we are going kayaking on a local river for the first time. We've only ever kayaked in lakes so this should be fun. And the best part....it's going to be in the high 60's! The warmest of the year so far. I can't wait. Today's mani has two meanings. First, I'm sure you've seen blue manicures everywhere for April which is Autism Awareness Month. Second, blue was the color for today's 30 day challenge. This was my first time attempting this cloud or ruffle technique (not sure what to call it). I have to say that it was really easy to do, easy enough to do nicely on both hands. I started out with two coats of a new polish by Essie, Avenue Maintain. This is from the Spring 2013 collection. This is a beautiful medium blue with a fantastic formula. A real winner. I layered with another new Essie, a grey with blue green tones, Maximillian Strasse Her. Another great color and formula. I finished off with Essie Licorice. What do you think? Anyone else have cool plans for the weekend?
A very pretty mani for a worthy cause...
ReplyDeleteVery true, thank you!
DeleteDid you have to wait until the previous layer to dry completely before putting on the other color?
ReplyDeleteYep, I waited about 10 minutes or however long it took to completely dry and then did the next layer. It really didn't take long though.
DeleteVery cool. I would love to try this look!
ReplyDeleteYou should, it's so easy :)
DeleteI need to try a cloud mani. It's on my list. Your color combo is great!
