Mint Manis For Talia: 3 Looks

#MintManisForTalia

Hi everyone, welcome to Friday!  I hope the week has treated you well.  Today I have some meaningful manis in honor of Talia, a 13 year old vlogger who was popular in the makeup community who passed away from her battle with cancer this week.  I remember seeing Talia on Ellen last year and I remember her positive attitude and outlook on life.  Nicole from Nail Polish Wars coordinated the effort after seeing Talia's last instagram nail post which featured mint nails.  Today I have three different mint manis.  I hope you enjoy.  Rest in peace Talia.

Marbelized Striped Nails

I started this mani with no clue of what to do.  Halfway through, I ended up with the idea to create nails that looked like the marbelized interior of a marble.  To create this look, I used the nail polish brushes that came with the bottles and created layer upon layer of stripes in all different sizes.  I continued to layer until I got the desired effect and then finished off with topcoat.  The mint polishes I used for this mani were Essie Mint Candy Apple, China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On, OPI Gargantuan Green Grape, and China Glaze Highlight of My Summer.

Neon and Nude French Tip

The second look is the simplest of the three and I wanted to play off the trend of nude and neon, with neon mint of course.  I started with two coats of OPI San Tan-tonio and then taped off my tips with painter's tape.  I coated the tips with two coats of China Glaze Highlight of My Summer and finished with topcoat.

Dotted Gradient Chevron

For my last look I started with the idea to do a triple mint chevron.  When I finished the chevron, I noticed it was hard to tell where one stopped and where the next mint started.  I added the dots in Essie Little Brown Dress to highlight the transition between the different mint colors.  The mints used for this look were China Glaze Highlight of My Summer, OPI Gargantuan Green Grape, and Essie Mint Candy Apple.
