China Glaze Avant Garden Swatches Part 1

China Glaze Avant Garden Swatches: Part 1

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Today is a big day for me....I'm chopping my hair off!!!  Well it's big for me anyways (plus I included a bad picture of my "before" hair at the end of the post...please be nice).  I don't know about all of you, but I've never been able to pick a hair cut that looks good on me.  According to the internet, the combination of a square face shape and fine hair doesn't exist in nature :)  If it's awful it will grow back :)  Today I have swatches of the new China Glaze Avant Garden Collection.  I have swatches of the first three colors.  Initially I only picked up three colors, Fancy Pants, Mimosa's Before Mani's, and Sunday Funday.  A few weeks later I picked up the two greens of the collection, Keep Calm, Paint On and Budding Romance.  I have a thing for green polishes so I don't know why I didn't pick these up in the first place :)  This is a pic heavy post but I will keep the words to a minimum.  Tomorrow will be my two favorites from the collection.

First up is Fancy Pants.  This polish is a purple color that leans blue (although I think my photos look more blue) with a red shimmer which you can't see in the photos.  The shimmer didn't really show up too much for me, just barely noticeable.  This photo is two coats with no base or top coat.  I liked the formula of this polish, it had a good thickness.  My biggest disappointment with this polish was that it chipped very easily.  I put it on before bed and in the morning when I got to work it was already majorly chipped.  I was really disappointed.

Second is Keep Calm, Paint On.  This polish is a light minty green with a hint of shimmer.  It's hard to tell that this polish is shimmery in the photos but it is more noticeable in real life.  These photos are two coats with no base or top coat.  The formula was thicker than I like it and it dried slower due to the thickness.  I really love mint though so this is a good one in my book.

Third is Mimosa's Before Mani's.  This polish is a darker peach color with a hint of shimmer.  I don't normally like peach colors but I have to say that this polish dried totally different than the color from the bottle, which was a good thing for me.  In the store I actually put it on a piece of paper and that is what sold me.  The formula is again on the thicker side like Keep Calm, Paint On but the color is fantastic.  These photos are two coats with no base or top coat.  The color is a winner for me.  I have cooler skin undertones so I don't think this polish really works on me but heck, that's never stopped me before.

Tomorrow I will post my two favorites from the collection.

Here's my before picture (be nice!)....

    1. It was really bad and such a disappointment. I was happy with it when I used it for stamping but if I had a do-over I wouldn't get it.
