Hi everyone, happy Hump Day! It's 12 degrees this morning and it feels like a heat wave. That sounds sad but compared to -40 it feels positively nice outside. It's my first week back at work and I have to admit that I'm struggling a little bit. One of my goals this year was to stay more positive so that's how I'm trying to deal with not wanting to be here. Do you have any tricks that you do to have a more positive outlook on things?
Anyways, now for the reason that you came here, the nails! I really fell in love the the newest OPI collection from Gwen Stefani, so I was inspired to try some nail art. If you missed swatches of the collection, you can find them here. I originally saw this mani on Pshiiit.com and I was inspired to give it a try.
To create this look, I started with a base of OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby, a shimmery gold. I then layered on a coat of Seche Vite to speed up the drying process. I used striping tape in an X shape and filled in the different triangles with a nail art brush. I used Over & Over A-Gwen, I Sing in Color, and 4 in the Morning. Once the tape is off, just topcoat and it's done.
I was quite happy with the final look, what do you think? This is my first real try at striping tape and I'm excited to keep going with it to see what I can come up with :) Have a great day everyone!
Very cool!!
